Maestro Kocsis once again led the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic on the second day of the Annecy Classic Festival, to delight the residents and visitors to this wonderful French town. The overture to Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila opened the evening’s performance at the Church of St. Bernadette, followed by Brahms’ Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, with Laurent Korcia of France on solo violin. As the finale, Zoltan Kocsis and the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic gave a wonderfully fresh, precise and organic performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, the Eroica.
