The Annecy Classic Sunday evening programme at the Church of St. Bernadette consisted of choral and liturgical works by Mozart, his Coronation Mass and Vespers of the Confessor K. 339 and the world premiere of L’Adoration de la Croix by Swiss composer Richard Dubugnon. The Saint Petersburg Philharmonic under the baton of Julien Vanhoutte combined with Patrick Marco’s impassioned direction of the Maîtrise de Paris and Annecy Classic Festival choirs.

The Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Spivakov, gave sparkling performances of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48 and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major, KV. 453, featuring Denis Matsuev on piano; and Haydn’s ‘Cello Concerto in C major, with soloist Anastasia Kobekina. The evening’s finale was the Prelude and Scherzo for Strings by Dmitri Shostakovich.
