Celebrating Vladimir Nemukhin’s 89th birthday, the AVC Charity Foundation funded an exhibition of this master of non-conformist art, together with the works of his Lianozov colleagues, at the Muravieff-Apostol House and Museum.
Vladimir Nemukhin’s hallmark is integrating playingn cards symbolically into his creations — abstract masterpieces filled with mysticism, historic reference and beautiful colouring. Nemukhin has subtly created a mixed media series of Jack of Diamonds images, on canvas, ceramics and paper, painting both with a broad brush or focusing on the semantic centre.
The exhibition’s inauguration on 12 November (Vladimir Nemukhin’s birthday) featured the premiere of Alexander Shatalov’s documentary, Nemuhinskie Monologues, which had been commissioned by the Foundation.
The AVC Charity Foundation also funded a catalogue of Vladimir Nemukhin’s and his fellow Lianozovs’ paintings, porcelain and sculptures, held in its own and in other private collections.
