L’Ecole de Paris. 1905-1932. From the museums and private collections of Paris, Geneva and Moscow, was the title of this exhibition at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. Famously, the Paris School brought together artists from many different countries who shared exceptional talents and who came to Paris in order to find themselves. Artists of many races, nationalities, religious beliefs and outlooks established and adopted the personality of the Left Bank.

One salon at the exhibition was dedicated to two of the most famous graduates of the Ecole, Amedeo Modigliani and Chaïm Soutine: other salons to the canvasses of Makc Chagall, Léonard Foujita, Pablo Picasso and Man Ray. Notwithstanding, the Ecole de Paris is more than simply world renowned names in the midst of the less talented or less successful. Each of the exhibited painters, photographers and sculptors played an important role in the history and development of universal art and culture. An extensive catalogue was published, thanks to the support of the AVC Charity Foundation.
