An exhibition dedicated to Sergei Diaghilev “Dans les pas des ballets russes” (In the Steps of the Ballets Russes) co-curated by Maya Avelicheva, President of the AVC Charity Foundation, was held at the Chateau of Auvers-sur-Oise.

Drawings notably by Konstantin Korovin, Léon Bakst, Alexandre Benois, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Boris Anisfeld, Yury Annenkov and Pavel Tchelitchew, from the collection of Andrey Cheglakov bore witness to the creation of the ‘most perfect synthesis of all existing art forms’ (Sergei Diaghilev) — drama, dance, choreography, music, costumes and stage sets. Diaghilev was inspired by the ideas and artistic practice of the World of Art movement founded in 1898, which led to his first Paris performances, Saison Russe in 1909, which in the following year became the Ballet Russes.
