Maximilian Voloshin (1877-1932) first came to Paris in 1901. Works on display at the atelier of art historian Marie-Aude Albert mostly represented his period in Paris, 1901-1916, but they included his late watercolors, photographs and private objects. They gave an impression not only of Voloshin’s own life but of the atmosphere of the creative scene in Paris at the beginning of the 20th Century, the very epicentre of La Belle Époque.

The exhibition was part of Russia’s Year in France programme and sponsored by the AVC Charity Foundation, which was also able to lend the artist’s work from its own collection.
