The eleventh and last day of the Fifth Annecy Classic Festival! The Grand Finale brought to the ever-delighted audience an unforgettable program with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra lled again by Maestro Yuri Temirkanov, of works by Rossini, Brahms, and Elgar.

Russian music dominated the last day but one of the Annecy Classic Festival!

In co-operation with the Friends of the Organ of Saint Peter’s Cathedral, Alexander Kniazev, the renowned Russian cellist and organist, turned to the Cathedral organ for an hour to render a dazzling performance of the Middelschulte transcriptions for organ of Johann Sebastian Bach’s seminal Goldberg Variations.

On Tuesday afternoon at the Annecy Castle Museum, there were more fireworks, this time from flautist Clément Dufour with Tristan Pfaff on piano, who gave us subtlety, charm and elegance in their interpretation of works especially composed for flute and piano by Prokofiev, Fauré and Poulenc.

On the seventh day of the Annecy Classic Festival, four rising stars played in honour of Eliane Richepin until midnight at the Imperial Palace Hotel.

On the evening of the fourth day, the Annecy Classic Festival continued to enchant its audiences, this time with a programme of chamber music from the Castle Museum.

Annecy Classic, the Haute-Savoie’s Fifth International Music Festival, continues apace with a host of internationally accomplished and acclaimed orchestras and soloists and stellar young musicians.

Maestro Kocsis once again led the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic on the second day of the Annecy Classic Festival, to delight the residents and visitors to this wonderful French town.

The Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Hungarian conductor and pianist Zoltan Kocsis, opened the 5th International Annecy Classic Festival with performances of works by Franz Liszt and by Antonín Dvořák, at the Church of St. Bernadette.

From August 19-29 Annecy, the beautiful lakeside resort town in the Haute-Savoie (south-east France) will host its Fifth International Summer Music Festival, Annecy Classic under the artistic direction of French musician Pascal Escande and Russian pianist Denis Matsuev.
